Turkmen Vice Prime Minister visits Pakistan

The Vice Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Mr. Baymurat Hujamuhammedov visited Pakistan on a day long visit today. The Vice Premier arrived as a Special Envoy of the Turkmen President and held a wide range of discussions, most importantly on the TAPI gas pipeline project, during his visit.

The Vice Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with the Federal Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbassi before calling on the Prime Minister. The bilateral meeting was also attended by Minister of State, Mr. Jam Kamal, Secretary, MPNR, senior officials of the MPNR and Mr. Mobin Saulat, MD, ISGS.

The bilateral meeting reviewed progress between the two sides in the energy sector. There was an in depth discussion on the TAPI gas pipeline project where both sides expressed satisfaction on the recent progress that has been made and realizing the objectives ahead.

In his call on the Prime Minister, the Vice Premier delivered an official invitation from the Turkmen President on the ground breaking of the TAPI gas pipeline project. The Prime Minister accepted the invitation. The Vice Premier also thanked the Prime Minister for his interest in the project and the fresh impetus his last visit to Turkmenistan had given to the project.
