TAPI Summit Held during 11th - 14th December 2010, Ashgabat. Quadruple handshake and enthusiastic applause marked the signing of a four-nation agreement on 11th December 2010 to build a gas pipeline for supply of gas from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
TAPI – Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India gas pipeline project – moved right to the threshold of reality as the presidents of Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the oil and gas ministers of Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India put their signatures on two core documents:1. Intergovernmental agreement (IGA), and 2. Framework Agreement for TAPI.
The intergovernmental agreement was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Asif Zardari of Pakistan, President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, and Murli Deora, minister for oil and gas of India.
The framework agreement was signed by the oil and gas ministers of the four countries.
